April brings a new show to Marmot Art Space in Spokane, WA

Spokane's award-winning gallery, Marmot Art Space welcomes Spring with a collection of new mixed media paintings from Bend, Oregon artist, Shelli Walters. Shelli's colorful canvases brighten the walls with a touch of nature and include animals, landscapes and a sunflower or two. Take in the show and feel your spirit lift.

Earth+Feather: May Show at Tumalo Art Company

Show opens May 7, 2021

Earth+Feather features vibrant mixed media paintings and paper mache sculpture by Bend, Oregon artist, Shelli Walters. With an accent on birds, this new work emerges from Shelli's love for the Earth and wild creatures. "Spending time listening to my feet crunching along a dirt path and catching a glimpse of a bird or coyote are not only a joy but crucial to my well-being. Animals hold such wisdom and the landscape such mystery. I love expressing this connection in my art and sharing the sense of oneness and wonder I find in nature."

Shelli Walters' 2020 Show, Water Echo Goes Virtual

In a time when we may be feeling especially isolated, Water Echo is a vibrant visual connection to nature and the world around us.

"While creating these paintings, I thought about how water connects virtually everything. In all its forms — liquid, vapor, ice — water has the magical capacity to change as it flows through waterways, earth, sky, animals, trees and people. Water always finds a way. Perhaps that is why being near it makes us feel hopeful.” 

This new collection of mixed media paintings explores the powerful energy and movement of water flowing through rivers, lakes, seas — and our souls. Layers upon layers of thoughts, stories, experiences, moods — shifting one over the other — sometimes revealing a hint of what is underneath. This has become my signature voice and style. Alternating layers of acrylic paint and collage to create richly textured, colorful and uplifting pieces that invite you to look closer and discover your own story.
